Faculty of Engineering
The Faculty of Engineering of University of Ruhuna was established on 1st July 1999 at Hapugala, Galle. First batch of students was admitted on 27th March 2000. Admission to the Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna, is subject to the University Grants Commission policy on university admissions. The present annual intake to the Faculty is 530. The Faculty of Engineering offers full-time courses leading to the Degree of Bachelor of the Science of Engineering Honors (B.Sc.Eng.Hons.), which is accredited by the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL).

Degree Programs
Electrical & Infomation Engineering
Department of Electrical and Information Engineering, University of Ruhuna, offers a BSc Eng (Hons) in Electrical and Information Engineering degree program accredited by the Washington Accord. The curriculum covers Power Systems, Electronic, Telecommunication, and Software Engineering specializations.
Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering
Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Department, University of Ruhuna, offers a B.Sc. in MME program with four specializations: Materials and Manufacturing Engineering, Thermal and Fluid Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Control, Mechatronics, and Robotics, and Automobile, Marine Engineering, and Engineering Design.
Civil & Environmental Engineering
Civil and Environmental Engineering Department of the University of Ruhuna offers BSc and postgraduate degrees, focusing on advanced technologies and Washington Accord compliance.
Computer Engineering
Department of Computer Engineering, University of Ruhuna, offers a BSc in Computer Engineering Honors degree with specializations in Software Engineering, Machine Learning, Cyber Security and Networking Engineering, and Electronics and Embedded Systems Engineering.
Marine Engineering & Naval Architecture Engineering
The Bachelor of Science in Engineering Honors (B.Sc.EngHons) specialization in Marine engineering and Naval Architecture is a newly offered degree programme by the Department of Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture (DMENA).
